Egypt's Furniture Industry Has Lifted Its Ban On Furniture Imports From Nigeria

 According to Egypt's "daily news" reported on June 19, Egypt's trade and industry minister tariq card than recently announced, after various efforts, Nigeria finally agreed to cancel the import ban on the furniture of Egypt. Since 2005, Nigeria has included furniture in the prohibition of imported goods (25 kinds), which has a negative impact on the export of furniture. Nigeria has a population of 180 million, as one of Africa's biggest economy, market prospect, card bielefeld minister called for Mr Furniture manufacturers and exporters using the favorable time to lift the ban, increase the export of furniture. 

 

Furniture is the main export item in Egypt, according to the Egyptian furniture export association, which exports $107 million in the first four months of 2017. In the northern city of Damietta, Egypt is building a furniture city of 331 acres, creating 25,000 direct jobs and 40,000 indirect jobs.
