[U.S. hardwood exports to China plunge 40%]

From January to September 2019, the value of U.S. imports from China fell by $53 billion, while U.S. exports to China fell by $14.5 billion.In addition, according to the U.S. department of agriculture, U.S. hardwood exports to China this year are down 40 percent from a year earlier -- a drop largely due to a 25 percent retaliatory tariff imposed by the Chinese government.
